characteristic of this book is that it not only describes
the top 100 or so birdwatching sites in Italy, but also
includes a highly informative section offering some
background on the most interesting birds to be found. For
each species the European and Italian distribution and
population estimates are given, along with a description
of typical habitat and full taxonomic details (...). I
would definetely recommend this book to anyone visiting
Italy who wishes to include birdwatching in their
journey, There is certainly no better guide available at
the moment. (Birdwatch, Oct 2006)

This
is an excellent and novel guide. It combines the
traditional "where to watch" format with an
annotated checklist with cross referencing. (...) Details
of how to find the site, a description of it, entrance
fees if applicable and the frequency with which certain
species occur are all terrific, making this a guide I
unhesitatingly recommend!ed (The FatBirder 13th Oct
2005).
